D&I in Conversation - Victor Barnes

In Episode 4 of D&I in Conversation, Senior Consultant Jess Carling speaks with Victor Barnes, Senior Vice President, Connected Planning at Anaplan.  Victor retired from The Coca-Cola Company in November 2020 after 26 years where his most recent role was Global CFO, The McDonald’s Division.  Previously, Victor was the CFO of Coca-Cola’s Canada business unit based in Toronto, Canada.

 

In his 26 years at The Coca-Cola Company, Victor traveled extensively and worked internationally, and built a wealth of experience in multiple industries, markets, and cultures including Johannesburg, South Africa, where he lived for 3 years.

Victor’s team orientation and leadership style were honed as an elite level basketball coach where he mastered the art of unselfish play, acknowledging the assist, and winning as a team.

With Big Four accounting firm and Internal Audit experience at Disney and Coca-Cola, Victor has deep exposure to industries ranging from manufacturing and electric utilities to real estate, entertainment, and retail.

He holds an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and is an Alumni of Northern Illinois University. He received his Certified Public Accountant credentials in the state of Georgia, and Executive Coaching certification from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University.

Victor was born and raised in Chicago where he met Victoria, his wife of 36 years.  They reside in Atlanta, Georgia, and are blessed with two children and four grandchildren. Victor enjoys reading, fitness, traveling, and sports, and still mentors the basketball players he coached, and finance associates he’s led around the world.
